After Two Years, Texas Switch Holds Remain About 1% of Residential ESI IDs
More than two years after the introduction of switch holds to the ERCOT market, the number of switch holds applicable to residential customers in ERCOT as part of entering into a deferred payment plan remain about 1% of residential ESI IDs in ERCOT.
In the aggregate, residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold were 1.1% as of August 31, 2013, the most recent date for which there is data.
Since being introduced in June 2011, the aggregate percent of residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold has never exceeded 1.25% (maximum was 1.223% at October 31, 2012).
On a TDU-specific basis, the highest percent of residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold was 1.8%, at Sharyland at December 31, 2012. Of the five major TDUs, the highest percent of residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold was 1.6%, at AEP Texas Central at October 31, 2012.
Since being introduced in June 2011, the aggregate number of residential ESI IDs subject to a switch hold has never exceeded 71,000 in a month (highest was 70,106 at October 31, 2012).
