Start-Up Texas REP, Affiliate of Existing Retail Provider, Receives License (Segmentation Strategy Revealed)
The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted start-up retail electric provider OriGen Energy LLC an Option 1 Texas REP certificate.
As only reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, OriGen Energy is an affiliate of Texas REP Source Power & Gas and shares several principals and management with its affiliate.
Although Source Power & Gas is active in both the small and large commercial markets, Source Power & Gas has also emphasized a mass-market strategy.
In contrast, OriGen Energy, according to its website, will provide, "electricity solutions for industrial and government institutions."
In OriGen's original REP application, Javier Loya was listed as CEO and President of OriGen Energy. Loya is a member of Source Power & Gas' parent, SPG Energy Group, LLC.
In OriGen's original REP application, John Werner was listed as COO of OriGen Energy. Werner is President of Source Power & Gas.
In OriGen's original REP application, Kelli Mitchell, Vice President of Operations for Source Operations Group LLC, was listed as the complaint contact for OriGen Energy.
