Texas Retail Provider Under New Ownership
GIM Retail Energy, LLC applied for an amendment to its Texas retail electric provider certificate to reflect that on December 19, 2013, EIF Channelview, LLC acquired 100% of the upstream membership interests of GIM Retail Energy, LLC.
GIM Retail Energy, LLC holds an Option 2 REP certificate. GIM originally sought the REP certificate to serve Equistar Chemicals under a supply contract GIM acquired when buying the approximately 800-MW Channelview cogeneration plant sited at Equistar's Channelview Complex in 2008.
The equity of a GIM subsidiary owning the Channelview facility, including the REP certificate, was recently sold to an EIF-backed company.
