Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

A Texas retail electric provider has newly notified the Public Utility Commission of Texas of its intent to offer prepaid service.

Specifically, Iluminar Energy LLC filed with the PUCT a statement of intent to provide retail electric services using a customer prepayment device or system.

Documents related to its proposed service, including the terms of service, prepaid disclosure statement, and electricity facts label, were filed confidentially.

Iluminar Energy is owned by Conservice, which serves the multifamily housing industry with various utility billing services, including submetering and ratio utility billing systems.
