NRG Energy Signs Deal With Richard Branson's Virgin Limited Edition
NRG Energy has announced an agreement with Virgin Limited Edition to develop a renewables-driven micro-grid for Necker Island.
Virgin Limited Edition, part of Richard Branson's Virgin Group of businesses, operates a collection of vacation retreats.
At least 75% of the micro-grid's power will be from an integrated array of solar, wind and energy storage technologies
The system will be supported by new energy efficiency and energy control automation designed to reduce overall energy use and synchronize energy consumption with renewable energy production on the island.
