NRG Residential Solutions Launches Service in Two New States, Includes New NFL-Themed Plans

NRG Residential Solutions has begun offering electricity service in New York and Connecticut.

In New York, NRG Residential Solutions is offering electricity service at Consolidated Edison and Orange & Rockland. In Connecticut, NRG Residential Solutions is offering electricity service at Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating.

NRG Residential Solutions' offerings in the new states are the same plans as offered in its existing territories of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachusetts, Illinois, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia -- several standard plans such as an NFL-themed plan specific to each market (in this case, Giants, Jets, and Patriots fan plans), a Nest thermostat bundle plan, and an essentials plan; plus fully customizable plans

For the customizable plans, customers may select their enrollment bonus, level of cash-back, term length (from monthly variable up to 12 months fixed), and renewable content.

All plans, including those listed below, include NRG Residential Solutions' "2¢ Sundays" rebate program which, in a one-time rebate after 6 months, provides a rebate to the customer based on if they had been charged 2¢/kWh for their Sunday usage for those first six months versus the otherwise applicable rate

Due to the multitude of offers, Matters will not quote every plan here, but for representative purposes, pricing for several plans at select new utilities is as follows:

ConEd, Zone J
Giants or Jets Fan Plan:
 • 12 months fixed @ 13.9¢/kWh
 • Includes 1% quarterly cash back, 25% Green, 
    Authentic Team Helmet

ConEd, Zone J
Nest Learn & Conserve Plan:
 • 15 months fixed @ 14.4¢/kWh
 • Includes 1% quarterly cash back, 25% renewable, 
    Nest thermostat

Orange & Rockland
Nest Learn & Conserve Plan:
 • 15 months fixed @ 10.3¢/kWh
 • Includes 1% quarterly cash back, 25% renewable, 
    Nest thermostat

Connecticut Light & Power
Giants, Jets or Patriots Fan Plan:
 • 12 months fixed @ 11.4¢/kWh
 • Includes 1% quarterly cash back, 25% Green, 
    Authentic Team Helmet

Connecticut Light & Power
Nest Learn & Conserve Plan:
 • 15 months fixed @ 11.9¢/kWh
 • Includes 1% quarterly cash back, 25% renewable, 
    Nest thermostat

United Illuminating
Nest Learn & Conserve Plan:
 • 15 months fixed @ 11.9¢/kWh
 • Includes 1% quarterly cash back, 25% renewable, 
    Nest thermostat

The fixed plans include an early cancellation fee of $10 multiplied by the number of months remaining on the fixed supply price term of the agreement, but in New York the fee will not exceed the maximum amounts set forth by the NYPSC
