The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approved the results of an auction to procure supplies for a 10% slice of AEP Ohio default service during the period April 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015.

The auction, which was for energy but not capacity, resulted in an average clearing price of $42.78 per megawatt-hour. This rate will be blended with tariffed generation rates to set the SSO rate.

There were five winning bidders in the auction. The names of the winning bidders will remain confidential for 21 days.
