Retail Supplier Announces Supply Arrangement With Shell Energy, Sets Timeline for New England Entry
Champion Energy Marketing LLC, the parent of Champion Energy Services, LLC, announced that it has entered into a five year agreement with Shell Energy North America (US) L.P. (Shell Energy) for a structured supply arrangement and credit facility, effective February 21, 2014.
"The new supply arrangement and credit facility will allow for a strong relationship to be developed with Shell Energy as Champion Energy continues to expand its business. Champion Energy selected Shell Energy due to its significant footprint in both natural gas and power across all US markets along with its strong financial position," Champion said.
"As we move forward together, Champion and Shell are focused on opportunities in both retail and wholesale energy that will continue to improve our competitive position," said David Tudor, Champion's President and CEO.
In announcing the supply arrangement and credit facility, Champion also said that it, "plans to begin serving customers in New England ISO footprint in the second quarter of 2014."
Champion Energy currently serves residential, governmental, commercial and industrial customers in deregulated electric energy markets in Texas, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey; governmental, commercial and industrial customers in Ohio, Maryland, New York, Delaware and the District of Columbia; and natural gas customers in Illinois
