Texas PUC Posts List of Cities Requiring Copy of REP Disconnect Notice Sent to Certain Multi-Family Dwellings
The Public Utility Commission of Texas has posted the list of municipalities to which retail electric providers must send a written (emailed) notice of service disconnection before authorizing disconnection of service to a non-submetered master metered multifamily property in such municipality. A non-submetered master metered multifamily property is an apartment, a leased or owner-occupied condominium, or one or more buildings containing at least 10 dwellings that receive electric utility service that is master metered but not submetered. Consumers Energy Said to be Spending $90,000 Per Month on Ads Opposing Electric Choice
Energy Choice Now said yesterday that, "Citizens for Energizing Michigan's Economy, the special interest group founded and funded by Consumers Energy to block a legislative plan to lift the state's 10 percent cap on competition in Michigan's electricity market, has spent over $90,000 in ratepayer supported profits on a misleading television ad campaign during the month of February alone." Energy Choice Now called the ads "misleading," though two of the ads merely parrot accusations from Texas "competitive" generators that Texas is facing "blackouts." (click here for prior story)
