Constellation Wins Muni Aggregation Serving 100,000 Customers
Constellation announced that it has been selected by a consortium of seven Northwest Chicago suburbs to supply residents with fixed price electricity under the group's opt-out aggregation.
The Northwest Consortium, which includes the communities of Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire, Palatine, Vernon Hills and Wheeling, signed the agreement with Constellation on Mar. 5. Long Grove is expected to sign the agreement later this month.
The aggregation includes 95,000 customers
According to Buffalo Grove, the rate provided by Constellation will be 6.529 cents per kilowatt-hour. Customers also have the option to purchase 100 percent renewable energy from Constellation for 6.621 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Electric service under the new agreement is scheduled to begin in May 2014.
