PSC Approves Changes to Choice Program
The Michigan PSC has approved certain changes to the choice program tariffs at DTE Gas (MichCon).
Specifically, the Commission approved DTE Gas Company's request to aggregate supply delivery requirements, under which DTE will implement a single aggregated delivery for each supplier where each supplier will only be required to nominate one monthly aggregated amount
Additionally, the PSC approved DTE's proposal to modify the supplier equalization charge (SEC) so that it applies to all customers and is determined on an aggregate basis
The PSC will not require retail suppliers to notify customers about DTE's $10 switching fee for switches subsequent to an initial switch in every 12-month period. DTE had originally proposed such a requirement, but later withdrew the proposal.
DTE had also proposed mandating the supplier posting of offers on a price comparison website, but the PSC directed that such issues be addressed on a collaborative basis for all gas utilities with choice in the state.
Regarding RESA's request that DTE Gas include the supplier logo in the choice customer invoice, "the Commission agrees with the utility that such a requirement would result in unnecessary expenses that the utility would then pass on to its customers."
