Crius Energy Sees Slower Customer Growth
Crius Energy reported net growth of 5,000 customers from September 30, 2013 to December 31, 2013, it disclosed in reporting earnings.
Crius Energy total customer count (in terms of RCEs) was 615,000 as of December 31, 2013, versus 610,000 as of September 30, 2013 and 535,000 a year ago.
The 5,000 customer net growth from September 30, 2013 to December 31, 2013 compares to net growth of 15,000 customers from June 30, 2013 to September 30, 2013.
The net growth of 5,000 was achieved on gross additions of 86,000 customers, and 81,000 drops.
At December 31, 2013, electricity RCEs were 536,000; natural gas RCEs were 79,000.
For the full-year 2013, Crius Energy sold 5.1 million MWh of electricity, 4.7 million MMBtu of natural gas and solar systems with total generation capacity of 2,200 KW
Full-year 2013 revenue was $507.1 million, and gross margin was $103.4 million.
Adjusted EBITDA for the full-year 2013 was $32.2 million.
For the quarter ending December 31, 2013, gross margin was $24.9 million and Adjusted EBITDA was $6.1 million.
Fourth quarter Adjusted EBITDA was impacted by a non-cash adjustment at year-end of $2.6 million relating to a change in estimate of the uncollectibility of customer accounts receivable balances in markets where Crius is subject to credit risk. Normalizing for this impact, Adjusted EBITDA was $8.7 million in the quarter.
