Exodus: PPL Sees Rate of Customers Leaving Competitive Supply Spike By Seven-Fold
PPL saw the rate of residential electric customers leaving competitive supply increase by sevenfold during the most recent week, as all of the seven major Pennsylvania EDCs again saw a decline in residential shopping.
Specifically, from about March 20 to March 26 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply was:
In aggregate, the competitive electric market saw a net decline of 7,200 residential shopping customers during the most recent week, versus a loss of 4,800 residential shopping customers in the immediately prior week
For comparison, the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply from about March 13 to March 19 at each utility was:
