Reporting by Paul Ring • ring@energychoicematters.com

As expected, ESCOs serving Lower Hudson Valley customers in New York will see a substantial increase in capacity prices, based on pricing from the summer 2014 ICAP strip auction.

Specifically, the new G-J locality, covering the Lower Hudson Valley, cleared at $9.96/kW-month, or about double the prior rest-of-state price, which the locality received prior to being made into a separate capacity zone.

The summer 2014 strip auction resulted in a New York City capacity price of $16.24/kW-month

The rest-of-state (NYCA) price was $5.15/kW-month
