Green Mountain Energy has expanded the offering of its SolarSPARC 100 product, a plan sourced from 100% solar power and which directs a portion of customer payments to build new solar generation not sited at the customer's premises, to New York and Pennsylvania.

The product, which also includes rebates to customers as solar capacity is brought online, was first launched in Texas.

Green Mountain will build a new solar project every six months, with the size of each array dependent on consumer demand for the SolarSPARC product, with $4 contributed per month per customer on the SolarSPARC 100 plan. Customers will receive an annual bill credit of $11 per solar project they help fund (e.g. each project developed while the customer is on SolarSPARC 100, which will be one project every 6 months). The credit increases each year as new facilities are funded, up to a maximum of $121 annually for customers who participate in the program for over 5 years.

In New York and Pennsylvania, the SolarSPARC 100% solar plan is offered as a 12-month fixed rate.

At Consolidated Edison (Zone J) in New York, the SolarSPARC 100% solar plan has a 12-month fixed rate of 14.90¢/kWh. At PECO in Pennsylvania, the SolarSPARC 100% solar plan has a 12-month fixed rate of 12.90¢/kWh.

In addition to a 100% solar product, Green Mountain is also offering customers the ability to participate in SolarSPARC under a plan that offers 10% solar power, and 90% wind power. This plan offers a 6-month fixed rate.

The SolarSPARC 10% plan only pays a $9 annual rebate per solar project funded (up to $99 maximum), and only contributes $2.50 per customer to solar projects.

At Consolidated Edison (Zone J) in New York, the SolarSPARC 10% solar plan has a 12-month fixed rate of 13.40¢/kWh. At PECO in Pennsylvania, the SolarSPARC 10% solar plan has a 12-month fixed rate of 11.40¢/kWh.

All of the fixed SolarSPARC plans in New York include a $100 early termination fee. The Pennsylvania fixed plans include a $295 termination fee for the 12 month plans, and a $100 termination fee for the 6 month plans

The SolarSPARC 100% and 10% plans are also offered at Niagara Mohawk, NYSEG, Rochester Gas & Electric, Orange & Rockland, and Central Hudson in New York, and at PPL, Duquesne Light, Met-Ed, Penelec, West Penn Power, and Penn Power in Pennsylvania.
