Draft Would Approve $4.5 Million Settlement with Retail Supplier
A Connecticut PURA draft decision would accept a $4.5 million settlement between Energy Plus Holdings, LLC and the Connecticut Attorney General and Consumer Counsel to resolve an investigation into the supplier's rates and marketing practices.

One public comment had been filed in opposition to the settlement, from West Hartford resident Tom McCormick, who noted that the settlement does not provide for any compensation for customers who alleged that their rates exceeded the "competitive" rates they were marketed when enrolled.
"Any settlement to be fair must return excess rates collected by EPH to individuals impacted," McCormick alleged in comments to PURA.
McCormick said that it would be a, "blatant conflict of interest," for PURA to accept a settlement which funds the agency at the expense of customer compensation.
