EDF Trading Names Two Appointments for North American Retail Business, Plans Further Expansion
EDF Trading, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF S.A., has announced two appointments to its North American retail and origination businesses
Mikel (Mike) Smith has joined EDF Trading as Senior Vice President, Retail Supply and Origination. Smith was previously Managing Director of Retail at ENCOA, the retail division of Twin Eagle Resource Management.
John Rittenhouse, Chief Executive of EDF Trading, said Smith was a welcome addition, "as we continue to expand our wholesale supply services to third party retailers in North America."
Bojana Popovic has been appointed Vice President of Retail Strategy and Business Development. Popovic joined EDF Trading North America in 2007 and has held a number of roles, most recently, Vice President of Fundamental Analysis, Power and Gas Trading.
Rittenhouse said that Popovic will help, "develop our footprint in the commercial and industrial power and gas markets."
Popovic and Smith will report to Mary Anne Brelinsky, Head of North American Retail and Origination.
EDF Energy Services currently serves over 1,800 MW of electricity in the U.S. and 300,000 MMBtu/d of natural gas to commercial and industrial customers in North America.
EDF Energy Services is active in most deregulated natural gas markets, and notably said that it plans to be registered in all deregulated electricity markets by the end of 2014.
