The New Jersey retail electric market saw a net loss of 41,000 residential electric customers on competitive supply from its peak migration level recorded in February 2014 to May 2014, according to stats on the BGS auction website

As of May 2014, 502,000 New Jersey residential electric customers were on competitive supply at the four investor-owned utilities.

This compares to a peak of 543,000 residential shoppers as of February 2014.

Of the decline, 18,000 residential shoppers were lost at PSE&G, 13,000 residential shoppers were lost at JCP&L, and 8,000 residential shoppers were lost at Atlantic City Electric

New Jersey is still seeing a monthly decline in statewide residential shopping, with a decline of 15,000 residential shoppers from April to May, with all utilities individually seeing a decline in residential migration as well.

The number of residential electric customers taking competitive supply at each utility as of May 2014 is:

Shopped Residential Accounts % of Customers
ACE 73,503 15.32%
JCP&L 195,715 20.15%
PSE&G 226,124 12.20%
