Pennsylvania Says It Will Update Stakeholders on Retail Natural Gas Market Investigation During Q3
The Pennsylvania PUC has said that its Office of Competitive Market Oversight will update stakeholders on the next steps in the PUC's retail natural gas market investigation during the third quarter.
The PUC noted this intent in its tentative order concerning different renewal notice timelines for gas and electricity service (click here for related story).
The PUC noted that the renewal notice timelines are just one of several inconsistencies in the electric and gas rules (particularly as the electric rules were updated in response to the polar vortex, and reported that, "As for the [additional] inconsistencies between the natural gas and electric regulations noted above, OCMO will be examining these issues in a more comprehensive manner as part of the Natural Gas Retail Markets Investigation that the Commission initiated in September 2013."
"This investigation will explore, among other things, what can be done to restore some level of consistency between natural gas and electric consumer protection regulations, especially disclosure and supplier switching requirements. OCMO expects to be communicating with stakeholders in the third quarter of 2014 as to the next steps of this investigation," the PUC said.
As recently noted by RetailEnergyX.com, there has not been any public filings in the natural gas investigation docket since December 2013.
