Pennsylvania Sees Return to Decline in Statewide Residential Shopping

The Independence Holiday week saw a net decline in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply in Pennsylvania, ending three consecutive weeks of statewide residential shopping growth.

From about July 3 to July 9 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw the total number of residential accounts on competitive supply decrease by nearly 1,500, versus the net growth of 2,300 shoppers in the immediately prior week.

Specifically, from about July 3 to July 9 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply was:

West Penn Power         238

For comparison, from about June 26 to July 2 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply was:
