Direct Energy Launches Nest Bundles, Posts Pricing

Direct Energy has launched its offering of plans for U.S. residential and commercial customers which bundle electricity supply with a free Nest learning thermostat.

The residential Nest bundles feature a 24 or 36-month fixed rate for electricity supply, which includes a free Nest learning thermostat at no additional cost.

Direct Energy said that its Nest bundle "Comfort and Control Plan" is now available to residential customers across Illinois, New Jersey, New York (except the ConEdison service area), Ohio and Pennsylvania. More states across the U.S. will be added in August, Direct Energy said.

The products generally include a $200 cost recovery fee per Nest thermostat if the agreement is cancelled during the initial term.

Direct Energy is also offering a Nest bundle to business customers under a 24-month fixed plan in the same service areas as listed above.

The Nest learning thermostat is listed as a $249 value.
