New Brand of Genie Energy Launches Retail Energy Offers in New York
Residents Energy, a new brand of Genie Energy, has begun offering retail electricity and natural gas to residential and business customers in New York.
According to listings on Power to Choose NY, Residents Energy offers electricity to residential customers at Consolidated Edison, Niagara Mohawk, NYSEG, Rochester Gas & Electric, Orange & Rockland, and Central Hudson.
Residents Energy offers natural gas to residential customers at Consolidated Edison, Niagara Mohawk, NYSEG, Rochester Gas & Electric, Orange & Rockland, National Fuel Gas Distribution, KeySpan-New York, and Central Hudson.
For electricity, Residents Energy is offering a standard monthly variable rate, and a renewable energy variable rate
At ConEd-Zone J, Residents Energy's standard variable rate, as listed on Power to Choose, is 13.559¢/kWh, and its 100% renewable variable rate is 16.059¢/kWh.
At NiMo-Zone A, Residents Energy's standard variable rate, as listed on Power to Choose, is 10.505¢/kWh, and its 100% renewable variable rate is 13.03¢/kWh.
For natural gas, Residents Energy lists on Power to Choose a standard variable rate. At ConEd, this rate is currently listed as 64.362¢/therm
Residents Energy's website also lists a choice of incentives for enrolling: either 5% cash back every 6 months plus a $25 Visa gift card, or 7% cash back every 6 months
Residents Energy is also offering customers $25 per referred customer ($50 for referred dual fuel electric and gas customer).
