Another Canadian Retail Supplier to Enter U.S. Retail Markets
Canadian retail energy supplier Link Energy Supply Inc. intends to enter the U.S. retail energy and natural gas markets, and a subsidiary has applied for FERC market-based rate authority.
Specifically, Link Energy Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary of Link Energy Supply Inc., applied for market-based rate authority and said that it, "intends to act as a retail energy supplier in various jurisdictions in the United States," and, "seeks to obtain authorization to sell electricity and natural gas at retail in various state jurisdictions and regional transmission organization territories."
Link Energy Supply currently operates as an energy retailer in Canada.
The officers of Link Energy are: Wayne Burke, President; Steve Shoiry, CEO; Jeff Anthofer, COO; Richard Ness, Corporate Risk Officer; and Matt Sherrett, CFO. The directors of Link Energy are: Jeff Anthofer, Wayne Burke, Liam Cheung, Rick Ness, Matt Sherrett, and Steve Shoiry.
Link Energy Supply Inc. is owned by:
• 19% by Tactex F1 Private Equity Fund, LP (which is owned 50% by Richard Ness, 25% by Liam Cheung, and 25% by Maria Kotsoros);
• 30.875% by 9225-1883 Quebec, Inc. (which is owned 100% by Steve Shoiry);
• 30.875% by 6842089 Canada, Inc. (which is owned 100% by Wayne Burke);
• 14.25% by 9215-6496 Quebec, Inc. (which is owned 100% by Matthew Sherrett); and
• 5% by 1883627 Ontario, Inc., (which is jointly owned by Jeff Anthofer and the four companies bulleted above)
Various Link Energy Supply owners also own stakes in energy brokers Dominion New Energy Inc. and DNE Sales LLC
