NRG "Realigning" Compassion Energy Brand After Acquiring Cirro, Compassion Brand Not Accepting New Customers
NRG Energy's retail brand Compassion Energy, focused on affinity charity donations, is not accepting new customers at this time, as NRG is "realigning" some of its retail brands in the wake of acquiring Cirro Energy, which had its own charity affinity program.
Compassion Energy, a trade name for US Retailers LLC, had been created to focus on the charity-affinity market, with donation programs supporting local chapters of organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Dwell with Dignity
Compassion Energy is not currently accepting new customers, and its existing customers will be transitioned to Cirro, which has and will continue to offer charity affinity programs, NRG told EnergyChoiceMatters.com
"At NRG, we believe that giving electricity customers the ability to choose an electricity plan that provides benefits to charities in their community is important. Cirro Energy has a successful affinity program benefitting charitable causes in the community and our plan is to transition Compassion Energy customers to Cirro Energy. The charities chosen by Compassion Energy customers will continue to receive affinity payments. While Compassion Energy is not accepting new customers at this time, Cirro Energy is available for those who want to sign up for this type of plan," NRG told EnergyChoiceMatters.com
