The Public Utility Commission of Texas granted Merrill Lynch Commodities, Inc., a unit of Bank of America Corporation, an Option 2 retail electric provider certificate. Option 2 REPs are limited to serving discrete customers 1 MW or larger who sign an affidavit agreeing to such service
Buyer of Proton Energy Withdraws Texas Application
The individual identified as the buyer of Texas REP Proton Energy, Mohamed Amin Dossani, has withdrawn the application for a REP certificate amendment reflecting the new ownership, without prejudice. The withdrawal follows a recommendation from PUCT Staff to deny the application (click here for story). Proton Energy is required to undergo a change in control, or its REP certificate will be revoked (click here for story).
