PECO saw its first increase in the number of residential electric customers on competitive supply since May, but Pennsylvania statewide saw another weekly decline in residential shopping

Statewide, from about August 7 to August 13 (reporting date varies slightly by utility), Pennsylvania saw a decrease of 635 residential customers on competitive supply, a smaller decrease than the net loss of 1,050 residential shoppers in the immediately prior week.

PECO, Met-Ed, and Penn Power were the only EDCs to see an increase in residential shopping for the week. PECO saw residential shopping increase by 1,100 accounts, reversing the week-ago loss of 900 residential shoppers.

Specifically, from about August 7 to August 13 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply was:

Duquesne Light (1,022)
Met-Ed 244
PECO 1,127
Penelec (10)
Penn Power 54
PPL (977)
West Penn Power (51)

For comparison, from about July 31 to August 6 (reporting date varies slightly by utility) the weekly change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply was:

Duquesne Light 0 (per listed data)
Met-Ed 369
PECO (931)
Penelec (59)
Penn Power (35)
PPL (188)
West Penn Power (155)
