Commonwealth Edison has seen an acceleration in the return of residential customers to default service for the third consecutive month, according to migration data as of June 30, 2014 now posted on PlugIn Illinois

As of June 30, ComEd had 2.314 million residential customers on competitive supply.

That's a loss of over 42,000 shopping customers since the May 31 total of 2.357 million.

It's also an increase from the net loss of 33,000 residential shoppers during May, and 26,000 during April.

All three Ameren rate zones saw a decline in residential shopping during June as well.

The decline in residential customers on competitive supply from May 31 to June 30 was 4,800 at Ameren Rate Zone I, 5,000 at Ameren Rate Zone II, and 30,000 at Ameren Rate Zone III (a large jump from May's loss of 8,000 shoppers at Zone III).

The number of residential customers on competitive supply at Ameren as of June 30, 2014 is:

Rate Zone I: 180,448

Rate Zone II: 135,493

Rate Zone III: 315,353
