New York Delays Deadline for Implementation of Utility-Versus-ESCO Bill Calculators
The New York PSC has delayed, for all utilities, the deadline for implementing online bill calculators comparing ESCO and default service prices, for residential and small non-residential customers
"[T]he deadline for all utilities to implement online historic bill calculators is extended until December 31, 2014 in order to promote the fair, orderly and efficient conduct of the proceeding," the PSC Secretary directed yesterday.
As previously reported by Matters, several utilities had sought an extension of the deadline, with some utilities seeking delay beyond December 31, 2014.
Specifically, KeySpan New York has sought a delay until March 2016, when a legacy billing system will be replaced, while NYSEG and RG&E has sought a delay of full implementation until October 31, 2015, although they proposed to have an "interim" calculator with limited functionality in place by December 2014.
