Texas Assigns 6 REPs Cost of Broadcasting PUCT Meetings

The Public Utility Commission of Texas has assigned to six retail electric providers the cost of broadcasting Commission meetings online.

PURA § 12.204 provides that the Commission is authorized to recover the costs of providing the broadcasting service by imposing an assessment on, among other entities, retail electric providers that serve more than 250,000 customers

Costs were allocated to the following REPs in the amounts shown:

Ambit Texas                                $5,696
Direct Energy                              $4,127
Green Mountain Energy Company              $4,646
Reliant Energy Retail Company LLC         $20,792
Stream Energy                              $4,665
TXU Energy Retail Company LLC             $23,674

Costs were allocated to generators as set forth in PURA in the amounts shown:

Luminant Generation Company LLC           $23,384
Calpine Corporation                       $12,163
NRG Energy                                $19,783
NextEra Energy Resources                   $8,270

Costs were also allocated to electric utilities and telecom companies, in accordance with PURA.
