Public Service of New Hampshire has forecast a decrease in its energy service (default service) rate for the period beginning January 1, 2015.

PSNH currently estimates that the default service rate starting January 1, 2015 will be 9.61 cents per kilowatt-hour, inclusive of scrubber costs. The January 1, 2015 default service rate excluding scrubber costs is forecast at 8.63 cents per kilowatt-hour.

The current default service rate is 9.87 cents per kilowatt-hour with scrubber costs (8.89 cents excluding scrubber costs).

PSNH's forecast is an estimate only, and the 2015 rate will be set using updated inputs to be filed in December.

PSNH's forecast default service rate is based on a 50.2% level of migration to competitive supply, which is the current migration level on PSNH's system as of July 31, 2014.

PSNH's filing included a forecast of customer migration, which forecasts an increase in customer migration. In the forecast, the portion of PSNH customers receiving energy from competitive suppliers is expected to average 50.6 percent and 55.7 percent in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
