DTE Energy Supply, Inc. is exiting several retail energy markets, and has assigned customers in certain markets to Integrys Energy Services.

"DTE Energy Supply, Inc. has entered into a transaction in which our customer contracts in Pennsylvania will be assigned to Integrys Energy Services, Inc. Integrys Energy Services, Inc. will assume the obligations for all commercial and industrial contracts for electricity customers across Duquesne Light Company, Metropolitan Edison Company, PECO Energy Company and Pennsylvania Electric Company territories," DTE Energy Supply said in a filing with the Pennsylvania PUC.

"This assignment encompasses approximately 45 total customers. The assignment will be effective on the customer's next available meter read following passage of the customer notice period," DTE Energy Supply told the PUC

An Integrys Energy Services webpage concerning the assignment, to which DTE Energy Supply Pennsylvania customers are directed in their assignment notice letters, suggests, but is not explicit, that similar assignments will occur in New York, Ohio, and Illinois, by listing such states as options for customers to select to contact a customer care representative.

Integrys Energy Services is to be sold to Exelon under a pending sale expected to close in fourth quarter of 2014 or first quarter of 2015.

Separately, DTE Energy Trading, Inc. (DTET) informed the Michigan PSC that it has determined that, "it no longer needs the AGS [alternative gas supplier] License," and requested to relinquish its license.

"In the gas arena, DTET has decided to limit its focus to wholesale gas activities and no longer wishes to pursue retail gas customers in Michigan," DTET said in the letter to the Michigan PSC.

DTE Energy Trading's request to the Michigan PSC did not mention any customer assignments resulting from its withdrawal from the retail market.
