Texas PUC Directs IMM, TRE to Investigate Rotating Outages in Valley
The Public Utility Commission of Texas has directed the Independent Market Monitor and Texas Reliability Entity to "investigate" the load shedding event that occurred in the Lower Rio Grande Valley on October 8.
In a letter to the IMM and TRE, obtained by ValleyCentral.com, PUCT Executive Director Brian Lloyd directed the IMM and TRE to, "investigate all the conditions leading to this emergency event, as well as actions taken once the event occurred."
"You should also focus on the actions of ERCOT and the ERCOT market participants to determine whether all appropriate laws, rules, requirements, and processes were followed," Lloyd directed.
