Spark Energy Acquires Book of Customers
Spark Energy, LLC has agreed to acquire the Connecticut variable rate customers of Connecticut-based Discount Power, Inc.
Included in Discount Power, Inc.'s Connecticut variable rate book are approximately 14,000 primarily residential and some small commercial customers.
Discount Power, Inc. intends to retain its fixed rate customers and will continue to maintain its Connecticut electric supplier license and honor its commitments to customers on DPI's fixed rate plans.
In a letter to the Connecticut PURA, Discount Power said that Spark has agreed to cap its variable rates to those customers at DPI's current rates for at least two months from the date on which these customers begin being served by Spark.
Discount Power has submitted to PURA a customer notice letter to be approved prior to the transfer, and customers will be provided 30 days' prior written notice of the assignment and transfer of their electric service to Spark.
