WMECO Residential Default Service Rate to Exceed 14¢/kWh

Western Massachusetts Electric Company announced that it has filed to increase its fixed residential basic service rate to 14.015 cents per kilowatt-hour, for the six-month period beginning January 1, 2015.

The current WMECO fixed basic service rate is 8.844 cents per kilowatt-hour.

Customers using an average of 500 kilowatt-hours per month would see their bill increase from $90.40 to $116.26, or about 29 percent, WMECO said.
