Reporting by Karen Abbott • kabbott@energychoicematters.com

The Energy Co-op has begun offering electric service to residential and commercial customers at PPL Electric Utilities.

The Energy Co-op is offering residential customers at PPL a 12-month fixed, 100% Pennsylvania-sourced renewable plan priced at 12.5 cents per kWh.

The plan consists of 99% wind power from wind farms in either Somerset, Waymart, or Mill Run. It also includes 1 percent solar power, the majority of which comes from the rooftops of the Co-op's member-owners.
