NRG Sees $3,800 in Added Value Per Customer From Added Services Beyond System Power
During an investor day presentation, NRG CEO David Crane presented NRG's vision that it can extract $3,800 in additional value per customer from services beyond its traditional provision of retail system power.
For illustrative purposes, NRG's current system power activities produce a value of $1,750 per customer.
NRG sees "core" add-ons, such as natural gas and home protection plans, adding $1,100 in added value per customer.
NRG sees new products, such as home security and Goal Zero portable power solutions, adding $1,150 in value per customer.
NRG sees home solar adding $1,500 in value per customer. The home solar additional value represents net additional value assuming no customer acquisition cost offset by a reduction in system power use given the solar installation
