Duquesne Light Provides Update on Implementing Accelerated Switching
Duquesne Light on January 12 provided the Pennsylvania PUC with an update on its progress in implementing an interim form of three-day accelerated switching, stating that it plans for the Phase I interim solution to be implemented in the latter part of February 2015.
Under Duquesne Light's Phase I interim accelerated switching solution, some 91% of customers would be allowed to complete one off-cycle accelerated switch, completed within three business days, per billing cycle
Implementation of the Phase I solution has been delayed due to Duquesne Light's implementation of a new backoffice and billing system, which is still undergoing a stabilization period.
In its January 12 update, Duquesne Light said that the testing of the Phase I solution to allow integration into the new billing system is currently scheduled to be completed on or about February 15, 2015.
"The Company is addressing defects as they are identified and will also be validating the Phase I Solution both of which could impact the completion of the testing," the utility said.
"Based on the status to date, Duquesne Light currently plans to implement the Phase I Solution in the latter part of February of 2015," Duquesne Light said in the January 12 letter
Duquesne Light said that it would file a further update on January 30
