Direct Energy Launches Nest Thermostat Bundles in Texas

Direct Energy has begun offering in Texas electricity plans including a free Nest Learning Thermostat

For residential customers, Direct Energy's Nest Comfort and Control Plan offers a 24 or 36 month fixed rate, plus, at no additional cost, a free nest Learning Thermostat ($249 retail value) and a six-month home cooling maintenance plan (valued at more than $50)

At Oncor, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 24-month and 36-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 10.2¢/kWh (all rates quoted at 1,000 kWh usage), reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 5.9¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 24-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 11.3¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 6.1¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 36-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 11.5¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 6.3¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At AEP Texas Central, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 24-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 11.6¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 6.1¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At AEP Texas Central, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 36-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 11.7¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 6.2¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At AEP Texas North, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 24-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 10.7¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 5.8¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At AEP Texas North, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 36-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 10.8¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 5.9¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At Texas-New Mexico Power, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 24-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 10.9¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 6.1¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

At Texas-New Mexico Power, the average all-in residential rate for Direct Energy's 36-month fixed Nest Comfort and Control plan is 11.1¢/kWh, reflecting a base charge of $4.95, an energy charge of 6.3¢/kWh, and a pass-through of TDU charges.

Direct Energy said that it will be the first Nest energy partner to integrate with Nest through the Works with Nest program in its online account management tool, MyAccount. "All Direct Energy customers will now be able to access and control their Nest Thermostat within MyAccount, where they manage their energy account, pay energy bills, track energy usage and get personalized insights, recommendations and offers," Direct Energy said.

The free home cooling maintenance plan provides customers with:

• A comprehensive cooling system check-up

• Front-of-line service when scheduling appointments

• No system age restrictions

• 15% off any repair services

The Direct Energy Comfort and Control Plan with nest has been available to Direct Energy customers in ten states (IL, OH, NY, NJ, CT, DC, PA, MI, MD and MA).
