Texas QSE to Pay $20,000 Under Settlement with PUCT Staff
Exelon Generation Company, LLC would pay $20,000 under a settlement with Staff of the Public Utility Commission of Texas to resolve its alleged failure to adhere to Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) Protocols § 8.1.1.4.2(1)(b), related to Responsive Reserve Service (RRS) energy deployment criteria on January 6, 2014.
The settlement states that Commission Staff's investigation found Load Resource QEXEL2 failed to curtail sufficient load within ten minutes following the VDI for Group 1 on January 6, 2014 as required. Exelon was the authorized QSE for the LR QEXEL2.
In Group 1, QEXEL2 deployed 0% of the requested MW deployment ten minutes after receiving the instruction from ERCOT, the settlement states
