United Illuminating Default Service Rates to Fall By 50-70%

United Illuminating has filed new Last Resort Service rates for the period beginning April 1, 2015.

The rates, in the 6-7¢ range, are 50-70% lower than the monthly Last Resort Service rates from the current pricing period, which range from 15-25¢/kWh.

The UI Last Resort Service Generation Services Charge (GSC) rates for the three-month period beginning April 1, 2015 are as follows, in cents per kWh:

Rates GST & LPT*, Above 500 kW
April (all hours):     6.7709
May (all hours):       6.0829
June (all hours):      6.8159

*Rate LPT Shoulder & Off-peak price is the same

The GSC rates do NOT reflect the bypassable Federally Mandated Congestion Charge
