Reporting by Karen Abbott • kabbott@energychoicematters.com

The Maine PUC has issued for comment draft versions of standardized notice forms setting forth the requirements for the terms of service and renewal notices for residential or small non-residential customers

As previously reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, the PUC previously adopted an order requiring the use of standardized notices, delegating the development of the notices to Staff (click here for story).

For variable rate plans, both indexed and non-indexed, the terms of service and renewal notices require the supplier to list the highest and lowest prices over prior 12 months, and to inform the customer of how to view prices under the plan over the last year, and how to, "compare them to other options."

The terms of service and renewal notices also require, for all types of variable rates, that the supplier list the frequency of any rate change and if there is a limit on the price level
