Texas PUC Opens Proceeding to Disburse REP's Letter of Credit (POLRs Among Potential Claimants)
The Public Utility Commission of Texas has opened a proceeding to disburse the proceeds from Proton Energy's letter of credit.
As previously reported, Proton Energy's REP certificate was revoked last year, and its remaining 600 customers were transferred to POLRs.
Staff petitioned the Commission to commence the waterfall process which governs the disbursement of REP security in such situations.
Aside from ERCOT and the TDUs, potential claimants to the proceeds include POLRs who assumed Proton's customers, to pay for the deposits of low-income customers.
Staff proposes that parties be given 45 days to submit a claim.
