Maine Workgroup Files Recommendation For Suppliers to Access Smart Meter Data
A Maine working group has issued a report regarding Central Maine Power's provision of advanced meter data to customers and retail suppliers via an online portal.
Customers would be required to separately enroll with the portal, called the Electricity Supplier Marketplace. In doing so, customers authorize CMP to provide licensed competitive electricity suppliers with historical hourly interval data related to their CMP account.
The following data may be obtained from the portal, though customers may restrict certain elements (such as contact phone number or email address):
Suppliers would be able to obtain interval usage information from the Customer Market Portal system for any customer with an interval meter capable of providing the information to the system, if the supplier has the customer's account number
Suppliers will not, at this time, receive the ICAP tags as part of the customer market portal data. However, suppliers can currently receive this information upon providing account number(s) to CMP. CMP is working on developing a system that will automate the provision of ICAP tags to suppliers. The ICAP tags are also included as part of the EDI information provided to suppliers.
Customer usage information will be available on the system between 30 and 54 hours after the usage has occurred.
Suppliers may not use data obtained from the system that is more than 90 days old.
