TXU: Customers Not Switching Away Due to EFH Restructuring
TXU Energy customers are not leaving the company due to its restructuring, Jennifer Pulliam, Senior Director of TXU Solutions at TXU Energy, said during the 2015 Energy Thought Summit (ETS).
"What we're seeing in the call center, day-in and day-out, and online, customers are not switching because of our restructuring proceeding," Pulliam said.
Pulliam noted that the customer count broadly hasn't changed since TXU's parent, Energy Future Holdings, entered restructuring, and said that she is seeing "positive trends" with respect to retention.
This has been borne out in EFH's quarterly reports (the most recent providing customer data as of September 30, 2014), which, as first reported by EnergyChoiceMatters.com, actually showed net TXU customer growth during the summer of 2014, with relatively low net churn levels (versus the pre-restructuring levels) in other recent quarters.
This lack of accelerated churn during bankruptcy is consistent with what EnergyChoiceMatters.com forecast at the time of the restructuring announcement, contrary to other hyped predictions of huge increases in customer churn due to the bankruptcy.
