Texas TDU Files Intent to Implement New Charge Applicable to Retail Electric Providers

CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC has filed a notice with the Public Utility Commission of Texas that it plans to file an application for approval of Distribution Cost Recovery Factor (DCRF), a new rider which would be charged to retail electric providers

CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric said that it intends to file an application to implement a DCRF no later than April 6, 2015

When filed, such application will be filed in Docket 44572.

The Distribution Cost Recovery Factor would be a rider charged to REPs used to recover certain new costs related to distribution investments outside of a base rate case. To date, no ERCOT utility has filed to implement a DCRF

DCRF filings are governed by Subst. R. 25.243, which provides that any DCRF shall be set on a system-wide basis with an effective date of September 1, unless good cause exists for a later date
