Company Acquires Retail Supplier MC Squared Energy Services
MC Squared Energy Services, LLC announced that it has been acquired by Chicago-based Wolverine Holdings.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Wolverine, along with the company’s principals, was an initial equity investor in MC Squared prior to the sale of the company to DPL Energy Resources in early 2011.
MC Squared currently provides electricity supply products and services to over 125,000 residential & business accounts in the ComEd service territory in Northern Illinois
Two of the founding principals of MC Squared will remain prospectively, Chuck Sutton as president and John Clark as chief financial officer.
"We are excited to reunite with Wolverine, which will provide us with a significant opportunity to expand our business model in Illinois. Wolverine is a strong financial company with unique skills in energy commodities," said Chuck Sutton, president of MC Squared.
The transaction only included MC Squared Energy Services, and did not include any of DPL Energy Resources' separate retail operations (such as its Ohio business)
