Pennsylvania Sees Residential Electric Shopping Decline During March

Pennsylvania saw another month of declining residential electric shopping during March, as PPL and PECO were the only EDCs among the large 7 utilities to see growth in residential shopping, according to the latest stats on PA Power Switch

The change in the number of residential customers on competitive supply at each utility from late February to late March was:

Duquesne Light      (27,971)*
Met-Ed               (1,802)
PECO                     69
Penelec              (3,170)
Penn Power           (1,424)
PPL                   2,244
West Penn Power      (3,107)

*Note: Duquesne light data compares January 2015 to March 2015, as February data was not updated.

Also notable is that UGI saw modest growth in residential-classified accounts on competitive supply, with an increase of 65 from February to March, with total residential accounts on competitive supply now standing at 248 (0.5%)
