State Stays Implementation of New Supplier Marketing, Disclosure Standards
The Connecticut PURA has stayed implementation of new supplier marketing standards and disclosure statements applicable to electric suppliers which were recently adopted in Docket 14-07-20.
As previously reported, PURA has already re-opened the marketing standards docket under 14-07-20 after a joint petition from suppliers and the Office of Consumer Counsel sought changes (click here for details on such changes).
However, despite requests from suppliers, PURA did not originally stay implementation of the newly adopted standards while the review of the proposed changes was ongoing.
Suppliers noted that, without a stay, they would be required to comply with and implement, potentially for a very short period, one set of standards, only to then change their systems and processes again to comply with any revised standards.
After a supplemental motion from suppliers, PURA has now issued a stay of implementation of its February 4, 2015 final decision in Docket No. 14-07-20 setting the new marketing standards, until a final decision is issued in the re-opened docket, Docket 14-07-20RE01.
