A joint proposal in Consolidated Edison's current electric rate case would establish a collaborative to address advanced meter deployment at ConEd, proposing that the PSC rule on ConEd's AMI plan by January 2016

ConEd had originally proposed its AMI plan in the rate case, which calls for deployment to begin in 2016, to be completed by 2023.

Under the joint proposal by ConEd, PSC Staff, and other parties, Con Edison will, no later than June 8, 2015, convene a meeting among Staff and other interested parties at which Con Edison will make a technical presentation regarding its preliminary AMI business plan, which will include a discussion about the company's preliminary plans for customer engagement.

On or about June 15, 2015, ConEd will provide to Staff and interested parties its preliminary AMI business plan, including a preliminary benefit cost analysis (BCA). An opportunity for comment and further stakeholder meetings will be provided

No later than October 15, 2015, ConEd will file its AMI business plan with the Commission. The signatory parties recommend that the Commission act on the proposed AMI plan in December 2015, but no later than January 2016.

In developing the AMI plan, ConEd will consider the feasibility of providing access to near real-time data to customers and third parties that are authorized to have access to customer data, including authorized third party energy services providers (e.g., an energy services company).
