Retail Supplier Hires Four Industry Veterans
Marathon Energy announced the addition of four industry veterans to its team.
Appointments include Scott Burns, Director of Marketing and Business Development; Jeremy Edwards, Vice President – Gas; Dan Gorman, Vice President – Power; and Ed Guari, Jr., Director of Sales.
Burns joins Marathon from Hess Small Business Services where he led a six-fold increase in the unit's customer base over a five-year period, Marathon said. Additionally, Burns previously held positions in supply and pricing.
Edwards has 15 years of progressive experience with Hess and Direct Energy, including supply, trading, pricing, regulatory, marketing, and commercial operations.
Gorman brings almost 20 years of deregulated power and natural gas markets experience to Marathon including load forecasting, supply, pricing, trading, and risk management across a wide spectrum of company sizes ranging from small startups to large industry leaders such as Hess, Direct Energy, and Integrys Energy.
Guari, Jr. will be responsible for leading Marathon's commercial fuel oil services to increase the company's commercial presence. Guari, Jr. is a 35-year veteran of the heating oil business, having also held senior positions at Approved Oil, Castle Oil, Sterling Petroleum, and Gotham Transportation.
